| 1. Listings
Battleground on the Web--Part II. ... As
I mentioned in the last Dispatch, brokers and
owners seeking net exposure will want to consider
regional Internet listing services, as well as
the national services. Often regional players
will contain more extensive information. ...
TJ
Anderson's attractive COMMREX
listing service is a good example of a regional
Internet site. COMMREX has developed web sites
for various regions, e.g., AZ, FL, HI, OH and the
Rocky Mountains, as well as many CCIM Chapters,
which all get rolled up into COMMREX. COMMREX includes over
$35 billion of properties for sale and 115
million square feet for lease. For metropolitan Chicago,
Kevin
Travers publishes The Chicago Office
Bulletin.
His service enables you to search for office
space, browse Chicago-area brokers and services,
and track news on lease and sales transactions.
... M/PF
Research publishes an interactive
newsletter and database of office, retail and
industrial properties for the Dallas/Fort Worth
Metroplex with "over 10,000 commercial
properties" in 27 sub-markets updated
monthly.
The "data
feed" theme that emerged from PikeNet 98
raised the possibility of a new class of data
provider, what I call the data integrator, to
make accessing various data sources (including
listing services) easier. ... Bruton
Information seems to be doing just
this. Bruton has launched MSA Map™, an
online information subscription service offering
several layers of data integrated with a GIS
mapping tool. According to Bruton, data has been
licensed from Jamison Research, Apartment Market
Data, Market Statistics, On Target Mapping,
Geographic Data Technologies and BLR Data. The
system currently covers Dallas, TX.

2. Web
News--REITNet.com. ... Newly launched,
REITNet.com is a joint venture
between ASSETrac Information Services and the
Center for Real Estate Studies at Indiana
University's School of Business. You'll find a
huge database of information on REIT securities,
REIT personnel and over 16,000 abstracts of real
estate articles. The site is divided into three
sections: free, basic service and premium
service. The REITMonitor, which tracks about
20,000 REIT-owned properties, is not part of the
service currently, but is planned as a future
addition. Also planned, according to Cinda Smith
of the Center, is the ability to purchase
CB/Richard Ellis Torto Wheaton's MSA Profiles.
Thus, you'll find real estate and securities
information all gathered in a central place.

3. Jobs Channel and
Atlanta, Dallas, DC Market Toolkits. ...
I added a new Channel for Jobs and Executive
Search with links to web sites
and to the Message Board for Jobs and Consulting
Assignments. Among the links is
realestatejobs.com, a new web site from Gillham
& Associates, aimed at the commercial real
estate industry. ... You'll also note three new
cities--Atlanta, Dallas and Washington,
DC--have been added to the
Market Toolkits, currently on the Billboard on
the home page. ... All Channels and Market
Toolkits provide the opportunity for targeted
banner placement. For full details, click the
online "Media Kit" under the Billboard
on the home page or use the hyperlink

4. Web
Success--Clarke Posts Aerial Shots. ...
Todd
Clarke, a CCIM Investment
Broker at Grubb & Ellis-Lewinger Hamilton in
Albuquerque, NM, publishes a very informative web
site, the New Mexico Apartment
Report.
... You'll find extensive information for each
property. "Each of our listings has aerial
photos and using DHTML we show the location of
the property on the aerial photos - and the
balance of the page shows 'linkages' (a concept I
teach in CCIM 201) - or surrounding
business/amenities/parks, etc." Clarke uses
the same concept for NM Apartments
Online. This database features
over 1,000 rental communities with aerial photos.

Dispatch. ... Remember that you can now
receive the PikeNet Dispatch in HTML format, so
that it looks just like a web page with all web

Netscape, Eudora 4.0, Outlook 98 and Outlook
Express can all receive it correctly. ... If you
